our focus areas

Drawing from over two decades of grassroots experience across 24+ states in India and working with more than 25,000 individuals, Dhriiti has identified five critical vulnerabilities that threaten community resilience: climate change, unhealthy lifestyles, unsustainable livelihoods, gender inequities, and lack of youth involvement in local development. These observations directly led to the development of our five focal areas: Climate Action, Health & Wellbeing, Sustainable Livelihood, Gender Equity, and Youth-led Development.

What makes our approach unique is our recognition of the intrinsic interconnectedness of these areas – what we call “intersectionalities.” We understand that no vulnerability exists in isolation. For instance, a project primarily focused on climate inevitably influences gender when it empowers women through FSE-enabled enterprises, or impacts sustainable livelihoods by creating climate-resilient income opportunities. This interconnected approach ensures that our entrepreneurship initiatives address multiple vulnerabilities simultaneously, creating a multiplier effect that strengthens community resilience from various angles. By leveraging these intersectionalities, our E4R model creates holistic solutions that help communities not only cope with challenges but thrive despite them.

CLIMATE ACTION

We preserve biocultural diversity of a community by integrating traditional ecological knowledge with modern scientific approaches.

HEALTH & WELL-BEING

We develop agroecology based entrepreneurship models to rejuvenate local food systems.

SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD

We prioritize the development and enhancement of social-purpose aggregator enterprises.

GENDER EQUITY

Our interventions support women micropreneurs to overcome barriers and achieve sustainable livelihoods.

YOUTH-LED DEVELOPMENT

We work with young people to address their own challenges and aspirations so that they become catalysts of positive change in their communities.
